SoftTiles Interlocking Foam Mats are a soft, comfortable, and inexpensive replacement for trade show carpeting. The costs of purchasing the SoftTiles Foam Tiles are not much more than rentals. So, if you use them for them for two shows they've already paid for themselves. SoftTiles Foam Mats are quick to install and can be done with a limited amount of people.

Cost of SoftTiles

SoftTiles 2x2's cost $5.80/Tile (5/8" Thick, 4 sqft. in area). We recommend the 2x2 mats unless you have a booth 10x10 or smaller. Otherwise there are too many pieces to assemble!

Figuring how many SoftTiles Interlocking Foam Mats you need for your Trade Show Booth

We generally recommend the SoftTiles 2x2 Interlocking foam mats for trade shows. Because the pieces are larger there are fewer of them to put down so it takes less time.

One SoftTiles 2x2 Foam Mat = 4 sqft.

Most booths are sold by 100 sqft. increments. So to fill 100 sqft of space, you'll need 25 of the SoftTiles 2x2 Foam Mat

Choosing the number of borders

We recommend putting down borders only on the sides of the trade show booth that are open to traffic. The foam borders are sloped from the height of the mat to the floor to help prevent tripping. The other sides are generally by the curtain and the interlocking edge are not that noticeable. Plus, hopefully you'll have things in your booth that will attract your customer's attention more! Borders are 1 foot in length, so for every SoftTiles 2x2 Interlocking Foam Mat, you'll need 2 of the border pieces. The corners are sold in pairs. The two pieces are normal pieces that are longer and form a mitre edge at the corner

Inline 10x10 Trade Show Booth- Your booth is inline with others, no corner. 100 sqft., 25 SoftTiles 2x2, 10 Straight Borders across the front of your booth.

Corner 10x10 Trade Show Booth- 100 sqft., 25 SoftTiles 2x2, 20 Borders (18 Straight Pieces, 1 Pair of corners).

Inline 10x20 Trade Show Booth- Your booth is inline with others, no corner. 200 sqft., 50 SoftTiles 2x2, 20 Straight Borders across the front of your booth.

Peninsula 10x20 Trade Show Booth- Your booth is open on three side, an endcap. 200 sqft., 50 SoftTiles 2x2, 30 Borders (26 Side Borders and 2 pairs of corners)

Island 20x20 Trade Show Booth- Your booth is open on all four sides. 400 sqft., 100 SoftTiles 2x2, 80 Borders (72 Sides and 4 pairs of corners)

Installation Hints

We recommend starting from one side of your trade show booth. Lay down the first row completely all the way across the booth. Make sure that the mats are lined up completely and straight before continuing. Complete each row before starting the next row. Don't work in two directions at the same time. For most shows, it is ok for the borders to extend into the aisle. Usually there is a gap between the aisle carpet and the booth because of the curtain poles.

Cleaning Hints

During the shows we generally will mop the floor with the "Swiffer Wet-Jet". This is a convenient way to clean off some of the lighter traffic dirt from the foam mats. For more stubborn stains we'll use standard cleaning chemicals. If the trade show floor underneath each foam mat is very dirty or sticky, we recommend flipping the foam mats face to face for storage in the boxes.

Storage

The SoftTiles Interlocking foam mats can be stored in the boxes they ship in. These export cartons are pretty durable and can last 3 or more shows. More if they are shipped in a crate to shows, less if shipped individually by UPS. We also sell a carrying case that can hold up to 26 pieces and some border pieces.

Preparing for the next show

Should the foam mats mats get damaged at a trade show, they can be rotated to portions of the booth that are not seen or these pieces can be replaced.
